THESE WERE THE 6 INTERNATIONAL TRENDS IN THE HARDWARE SECTOR
Bogotá, October 2025. The 2025 Great Hardware Show, to be held from November 6 to 8 at Corferias, is solidifying its position as the leading platform for global trends that are redefining the hardware and construction industries. Its now international scope and partnership with Koelnmesse, organizer of the renowned Eisenwarenmesse trade fair in Germany, have made this event a benchmark connecting global innovation with the needs of the Latin American market.
In this eighth edition, the Great Hardware Show will bring together exhibitors from Germany, Italy, Spain, India, and Albania, as well as professional visitors from various countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, positioning Colombia as a country with a strong presence in the hardware industry in the region.
“At the Great Hardware Show, we are looking to bring the trends that are transforming the market worldwide. This year, for example, we will see how digitalization, sustainability, and automation are being integrated into the sector's offerings, driven by connections with international exhibitors who are bringing innovation from Europe, Asia, and Latin America,” stated Lilián Conde, project manager for the Great Hardware Show at Corferias.
Innovation and internationalization: two pillars driving industry trends
Smart tools and connectivity with the Internet of Things (IoT) (Germany and the USA)
Technology and digitalization are redefining the use of tools. At the event, European and local brands will present equipment with sensors, remote diagnostics, and Bluetooth connectivity, which improve safety and productivity. In the Hardware Lab, visitors can witness live demonstrations of these innovations.
Sustainable Materials and Eco-efficient Solutions (Europe and Colombia)
The rise of low-environmental-impact materials is one of the most prominent trends for 2025. Eco-friendly paints, solvent-free adhesives, recycled coatings, and green concrete will be featured in the Paints and Finishes pavilion, highlighting certified formulas from Europe and Latin America.
Automation and Data-Driven Management (India, USA, and Colombia)
Digitalization is also reaching operations. In Colombia, more and more hardware stores are integrating smart inventory software and predictive analytics. At the trade show, technology companies from India and Latin America will showcase platforms that optimize logistics, sales, and decision-making.
Flexible Business Models and the Circular Economy (UK and Latin America)
Tool leasing and subscriptions are gaining ground as sustainable alternatives. At the Hardware Academy, international experts will present circular economy success stories, driving new business opportunities in the regional market.
Professionalization and Technical Training (Europe and Colombia)
Ongoing professional development for the hardware industry is key to competitiveness. The Hardware Academy will offer a robust academic program with talks, workshops, and conferences led by national and international instructors focused on technology, sustainability, and business management.
Advanced Industrial Safety (Asia and Europe)
Personal protective equipment is evolving toward smart solutions. In the Tools and Supplies area, helmets with sensors, high-performance gloves, and new standards in ergonomic protection will be presented, setting the trend in industrial safety.
An Alliance Driving the Sector's International Growth
The Great Hardware Show is made possible by the union of three strategic partners, making this trade fair a benchmark for innovation and global trends. Corferias promotes the country's business and cultural development, Concept2B connects the sector with new market dynamics, and Koelnmesse, the world leader in hardware and tool trade fairs, contributes its international perspective thanks to its experience with events like Eisenwarenmesse in Germany, allowing trends such as digitalization, sustainability, and automation to be reflected in this edition.
From November 6 to 8, Corferias in Bogotá will host El Gran Salón Ferretero 2025. Professional visitors can now pre-register at https://www.gransalonferretero.com/es/preregistro and guarantee their participation in the trade fair that connects the entire hardware industry of Colombia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
